Hōiho Whakaora Tangata is one of a limited number of providers in Taranaki, of Equine Assisted Therapy and Learning based on the EAGALA and EQUUSOMA models.  Independently owned and operated in Taranaki, by Sharon Robertson.

Equine Assisted Therapy and Learning incorporates horses experientially for emotional growth and learning.   There is no riding or teaching horsemanship.  Because of its intensity and effectiveness, it is considered a short-term or “brief” approach.
The benefits of this type of learning include;
  • Confidence
  • Communication
  • Trust
  • Anxiety reduction
  • Resilience
  • Social skills
  • Assertiveness
  • Boundaries
Partnering with horses is growing and gaining popularity with the rise of new approaches in working with the horses, including the field of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.
